SERVICES, RATES, AND PAYMENTS:
Initial Document or Project Review – Free for the first 15 minutes, then $50 per hour. ($25 per hour for students). Consultation work ONLY.
Student Level Word Flow and Continuity Reviews – either hourly at $45 per hour, or contractually by the document or any part thereof.
Professional Level Word Flow and Continuity Reviews – either hourly at $75 per hour, or contractually by the document or any part thereof.
Translation Correction – Hourly at $60 per hour, or contractually by the document or any part thereof.
Professional, Scientific, Executive, and Engineering Documentation Reviews– Hourly at $90 per hour.
Proofreading (basic) – hourly at $60 per hour
Document and Documentary Review – $60 per hour or contractually by the document or any part thereof.
Imagineering and Production Services – per negotiated contract, hourly above and beyond contracted rates at up to $300 per hour.
All other services, negotiated or agreed to, will be quoted at time of agreement. For specialized work please contact us for more information.
ALL ABOVE RATES are not inclusive of expenses, travel & transportation, accommodations, or meals, which shall be billed to the client at cost +10%. All hourly rates (except as otherwise specified) are for a minimum of two hours, additional time being billed for each additional quarter hour or fraction thereof.
Payment for services are quoted and payable in US Dollars. We also accept Euro, British Pounds, Canadian or Australian Dollars, or Swiss Francs at the current conversion rate + 10% for processing. Other forms of currency or payment may be accepted upon agreement. We also accept Visa or Master Card, with an additional 4% fee for processing.
OUR BUSINESS:
We agree, upon mutual agreement, for monetary or other consideration, to provide the services enumerated on the title page of this website. We also warrant any work completed by Lassen Forge, -wordsmith-, to be completed to the standards of good journalism, writing, or talent.
If you, our customer, are dissatisfied with our work, or our product, we will refund, up to 30 calendar days after delivery of work, at a minimum any monies provided not covered by the below payment schedules, and may return up to the full amount of any monies paid by the client to Lassen Forge -wordsmith- as specified above. Should any work be refunded or claims for warranty made, the client agrees to release control and any claim of ownership of the work warranted, and further agrees not to use it for any purpose whatsoever.
LEGAL INFORMATION
As you know, we offer many different and diverse services. Some of these are applicable to be charged “by the hour”, others are generally quoted or bid “by the job”, depending on the nature of the work requested or required.
In all cases we will reconfirm, either verbally or in writing, should the terms or conditions of any work changes. This includes timelines, charges, base rate or bid on job, etc.
Please note the following important information:
– ALL INTELLECTUAL OR CREATIVE PROPERTY, UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFICALLY AGREED TO IN WRITING, REMAINS THE PROPERTY OF LASSEN FORGE -WORDSMITH-.
What this means: Lassen Forge -wordsmith- holds all copyright and other rights to any intellectual, creative, or ancillary content. If we agree to release any or all parts of this to the client, we still retain the right to use any and all such media or material for whatever use as Lassen Forge -wordsmith- may see fit, including advertising, examples of work, sales promotions, or any other purpose.
In the case of any intellectual or creative work of a proprietary, confidential or secrecy-critical manner (such as, but not limited to, government documents, film or broadcast media, etc.) the client shall notify Lassen Forge -wordsmith- of the nature of these restrictions, and Lassen Forge -wordsmith- will, to the best of their abilities, maintain such confidentiality or security over any such work (and the relevant source documentation) throughout the previously-determined period where this confidentiality must be maintained, or 3 years, whichever is less. Lassen Forge -wordsmith-, its officers, agents, assigns, or employees, shall not be held liable for unintentional, accidental or involuntary disclosure of any material or information, and recourse of any such involuntary or accidental release, or by acts of a 3rd party, shall be limited to 50% of any fees or monies paid.
– ON ALL JOBS SUBSCRIBED TO ON A BID BASIS, A 50% DEPOSIT WILL BE DUE AND PAYABLE BEFORE ANY WORK CAN COMMENCE.
What this means: Upon agreement of any contractual work the client shall place on deposit with Lassen Forge -wordsmith- a deposit of 50% of the projected initial cost of the completed project. All remainder due shall be paid prior to release of the completed project to the client.
– UNLESS OTHERWISE AGREED TO IN ADVANCE, ALL HOURLY WORK WILL CARRY A MINIMUM OF 2 HOURS, AND AFTER THE INITAL 2 HOUR PERIOD, SHALL BE BILLED THEREAFTER BY THE 1/4 HOUR OR FRACTION THEREOF.
What this means: Upon agreement of any hourly work the minimum charge will be an amount of not less than 2 hours billed at the rate of anticipated work. Any time spent on the project in excess of that 2 hour block shall be billed at no less that 1/4 of the hourly rate for such work for each period of time up to 15 minutes spent on said work. All fees are due and payable prior to the release of any and all work to the client.
– OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION.
Lassen Forge -wordsmith-, it’s officers, assigns, or employees, shall not be held liable for any injury, damages, claims of slander or libel, claims of plagiarism or copyright/patent infringement, errors of commission or omission, deceit, falsehood, inaccuracies, or fictitious or misrepresented claims or assentation’s made in the course of business. Further, Lassen Forge -wordsmith-, its officers, assigns, or employees, shall not be held jointly or separately liable for any errors, omissions, or damages created by one of its employees. Lassen Forge -wordsmith- reserves the affirmative and irrevocable right to turn over any documents, source material, research documents, or any other resource, media, or written materials that may allude to any illegal, dangerous, terrorist-related, or other harmful activities or actions, to any Law Enforcement or Investigative Agency if requested or demanded, with or without warrant, or is, in the judgment of Lassen Forge -wordsmith-, it’s officers, assigns, or employees, potentially illegal, could cause harm, breaks or appears to break any law or statute, or could be connected in any way to illegal, dangerous, terrorist, or treasonous activity. Any client, potential client, or person seeking services, information or work from Lassen Forge -wordsmith- agrees to hold harmless Lassen Forge -wordsmith-, it’s officers, assigns, or employees for any such release of, or supplying any information or documentation to, law enforcement or regulatory agencies under the foregoing provision. If you do not agree to these restrictions, do not engage Lassen Forge -wordsmith- for business. The foregoing restriction is applicable worldwide, and in any location where Lassen Forge -wordsmith- does business, engages clients, or has a business or other presence.
